This year RASCJ is taking part in Aqaba’s Annual Bazaar for Handicrafts and Artisans – Souk by the Sea; the bazaar promotes handicrafts produced by Aqaba locals to tourists and the local community. The USAID funded bazaar is held in the area adjacent to Double Tree By Hilton Hotel, every Friday until May 2013. Several members of the local handicraft community and charitable organizations are taking part in Souk by the Sea.
RASCJ has a booth setup on location to display promotional leaflets on the Club’s different aero activities, in addition to an informative short video showcasing aero sports and the vital role it attains in supporting and encouraging tourism in Aqaba and Wadi Rum. During the opening ceremony of the Souk, the Microlight aircraft was displayed in the Hotel’s indoor hall, where it attracted many of the tourists and locals visiting the Souk.
In a statement made by the RASCJ’s General Manager, Mr. Marwan Atalla said: “the Club is constantly driven and determined to support local communities in both Aqaba and Wadi Rum through attracting tourists with different exciting activities ranging from aero sports to camping retreats.”
